Performed in PeopleDance 2011 at Willamette University, Fervor, Fury, Home, and Progress are bound together by the common theme and title:  Dances for Apocalypse.  In considering the many collective pressures of our now global culture, I am struck by how delicate the balance of our survival appears.  I often feel the “weight of the world,” on my shoulders, and I think many of my generation, and the generation we educate, also feel this pressure.  Through the creation of these dances I have come to appreciate the nature of apocalypse as a personal journey as much as a collective one.  Because our individual mortality is universal and assured, the celebration of our survival can also be renewed with each passing day.

So I ask:  What remains when everything we know is left behind?
